Halesworth Area Community Transport (HACT) provides the 511 bus service in and around Halesworth and Holton connecting them to the GP surgery, the Co-op supermarket, railway station and The Thoroughfare. It is manned by friendly and helpful volunteer drivers and offers bus buddies in the mornings who can assist passengers on and off the bus and offer advice on transport connections and local events and activities.

The 511 route is served by 16-seater minibus. Although we have a tail -lift at the rear of the bus this is used for pre-booked Community hires. We can take on board the Hoppa standard walkers and trolleys only. Heavy wheelchairs and luggage cannot be taken due to lack of space and the health and safety of our staff and other passengers. See attached Health and Safety Document  The 511 Service is like any other route, passengers pay a fare or use a bus pass. Passengers can hail the bus anywhere along its route and the driver or buddy will provide assistance getting on and off the vehicle. If necessary drivers can use their own discretion to divert off the main route, for a short distance, to take those with impaired mobility closer to their door. Please call us by 9.15am if you need assistance on 01986 875900.
